    PM Pediatric Care serves a diverse population of patients ages 0-26 in 15 states and Washington, DC. With the launch of their virtual program in 2019, and its significant expansion in 2020, the location of their patient population has expanded. It now includes not only urban and suburban areas, but also rural areas, such as remote areas in Alaska, where access to care is a challenge. In 2021, PM Pediatric Care recognized the growing mental health crisis and launched pediatrics and adolescent telemedicine behavioral health services in their states. In 2022, PM Pediatric Care launched its School Health program by providing services to the Clark County Nevada School District, a public school system where access to pediatric care poses a significant challenge. Over the past several years, PM Pediatric Care has enabled >300,000 pediatric telemedicine visits.

    Dr. Sadhna Paralkar is a senior vice president and national medical director for Segal with 25 years of experience. Dr. Paralkar leads Segal’s Medical Management consulting and has specialized expertise in on-site clinics, wellness programs, medical management program design, health care informatics, network management strategies to optimize health improvement while containing costs, and evaluation and implementation of disease management and wellness programs. Early in her career, Dr. Paralkar was often the only woman and the only person of color in the room. To recruit and retain more women in the workforce, she worked with HR at a previous employer to develop a networking program for women that grew into a formal mentorship program. At Segal, she is part of a formal mentoring program. She regularly mentors women with a clear set of principles in mind, which not only helps the mentees, but has helped her become a more well-rounded leader.

In the last five years, she and Danica Pension have launched numerous healthcare initiatives. Ms. Sunesen is passionate about diversity and leadership and believes having role models who are true to themselves is important. She mentors women who struggle with imposter syndrome and focuses on turning perceived weaknesses (e.g., vulnerability) into strengths. Ms. Sunesen regularly appears on Danish TV to discussion mental health, particularly among young people, and uses this opportunity to share the message of embracing our differences.
